You Forgot (00:03.126)
Hi Joanna.

Jojo (00:04.426)
We're back, we're back baby.

You Forgot (00:06.69)
We're back. Where you been?

Jojo (00:09.366)
You know, no fun. I was just in six and a half weeks of Barbie boot camp with maybe one day off a week and but I graduated. I fucking graduated.

You Forgot (00:24.142)
If you're just tuning in, Joanna is a American Airlines flight attendant again.

Jojo (00:30.908)
Again, I'm back. Took a little 15 year hiatus to raise the old kiddos, but I'm back. Let me just say, if you are like my age and you're thinking about becoming a flight attendant, don't let TikTok scare you. The training is not hard. It's just a lot and it's unpaid. So.

Those are things you need to factor in, the fact that you have to make a 90 on every test, don't stress about that. The tests are simple and the review is just like the test. So don't be afraid of all of that. Just don't be. Yes, you will have to evacuate an airplane. You may have to take multiple tests on the same day and then immediately go to the simulator and do all your commands and evacuate an airplane. So if you work great under pressure, this is for you.

You Forgot (01:09.134)
So what?

Jojo (01:24.83)
But it's not hard! Don't act like it's rocket science, because it's not.

You Forgot (01:29.368)
So what on TikTok, there's like people saying how like group.

Jojo (01:32.584)
The young ones, and I hate to stereotype, but the young ones are like, you have to make a 90 on every test, which is true. But let's just keep this in mind. They graduate over 7,000 people a year. So you're telling me that 7,000 people can make a 90 or better on every test? The test is not hard. It's not hard. This is not like a PhD program. Like the bar is so low.

So don't let that scare you. In fact, well, I did so the young, you could immediately tell like the people, and I hate to say this, but it's the same way with our US education system. If you learn a certain way, and if you're a certain test taker, you're gonna do really well in the public school system.

You Forgot (02:04.822)
I in myself short.

Jojo (02:23.048)
That means if you're a good memorizer and you're a good test taker, you're going to do just fine. And I saw that as a teacher when we started taking these tests. If you don't get test anxiety, if you're a really good test taker and a good memorizer, those young kids were making hundreds after hundreds after hundreds. And they started to notice that about me too, because this is a little weird. You shouldn't know what people are making on these tests, but we take them on these iPads. And so if you make a hundred.

you go put your iPad back at your seat. But if you don't make 100, you have to go out to the hallway where they go over the missed questions with you. So you know exactly who's making 100 and who's not. And so the young kids started noticing that I was making hundreds. And so they were like, hey, Joanna, listen, none of us are like afraid of, we're not going to fail, but let's make a new contest to make this a little more interesting. Who can make 100 the fastest?

You Forgot (02:59.244)
You

Jojo (03:18.312)
And I was like, hell yes, I'm in, I'm in. So the next test that we're all like making eye contact, like we're on, who's gonna make 100 the fastest? I took that, it was over the 787. I took that test so fast, my heart was racing. I was like, I finally have something to live for here. I took that test, another one of the young ones stood up at the same time I stood up. I ran to the submission desk. I like almost pushed her out of the way.

You Forgot (03:18.518)
Jesus

Jojo (03:46.506)
And then I did get 100 and I did get it first. It took me two minutes, like two minutes and 15 seconds to finish a 30 question test. That's how easy it is. Anyways, when they all walked out to the hallway, I was just sitting there like arms crossed waiting for them. I was like, don't play a player. Guys, don't play a player.

You Forgot (04:05.806)
So you're in there, there's all kinds of, what's the ages? Like, I know you had some things and then.

Jojo (04:12.426)
Oh gosh, the youngest girl was 20 and then the oldest in my class was 62. So it's all ages. Yeah.

You Forgot (04:21.698)
Nice. Well, congratulations.

Jojo (04:25.886)
Thank you. And then we went, had my graduation ceremony, which was a little, here's my what's up with Gaga. So the first time I graduated in the year 2000, Gaga was front and center in that same auditorium. She was brag, like her whole thing was always Joanna is a supermodel and.

A genius. This is what she would tell everyone. She's gorgeous. She has a cute butt and she's a genius. So that's what she was telling all my instructors, anyone who would listen at this graduation. So this time it was a little different because she wasn't there because we're not about to take her out in public these days. And of course, you know, when you have something exciting happening in your life and then fucking Alzheimer's has to ruin it every time. So I got like all sad and emo that she wasn't there.

And I just kept remembering how she was on front row the last time bragging and like, that's my daughter, that's my daughter. And then she wasn't there. It was like, God, I have to grieve this again. Like ruined my happy moment.

You Forgot (05:35.486)
that's sad.

Jojo (05:36.744)
It was sad. And then I remembered I had a bunch of people that I'd sent the link to that was watching online. I had friends and Matt in the audience watching and I was like, pull it together, Joanna. You're supposed to be happy, Don't get sad.

You Forgot (05:52.622)
No, because you do have those memories of the good experience, the first graduation with her there. And that's super cute. But of course you're going to think about it, know, back on it.

Jojo (05:59.467)
this.

Jojo (06:05.98)
I course, of course. Yeah, but yeah, I just have to like keep reframing it. Like, hey, I had a great mom. Like she was my number one cheerleader. At least I have that.

You Forgot (06:18.518)
Yeah, yeah, you have all the good memories to pull from. So you can't get too sad, but that does suck.

Jojo (06:26.314)
It was sucky. It was just kind of like, God, haven't honestly, this is going to sound bad. hadn't thought about her in about six weeks because I was so busy 12 hours a day in class and then doing my travel advisor job any moment I could like at lunch or dinner. hadn't thought about her until that graduation day.

You Forgot (06:46.946)
Yeah, well, you know, she's safe and she has, you know, you have other family that can check on her. And did we have any update about her when they changed up her meds or anything? Do we know?

Jojo (06:53.972)
Yep.

Jojo (06:59.186)
Okay, gosh, I feel like there was an update that Deborah sent me. So they, I think we talked about this. They changed her meds cause she got a little crazy with another resident. But I think maybe like, I know what the update was and it's not great. The last time Deborah went to see her, she didn't know who Deborah was. Like Deborah thought, is she over medicated? Like she was just out of it, didn't have words, didn't know who Deborah was.

You Forgot (07:11.659)
Yeah.

Jojo (07:28.904)
And I think I just stuffed that down because I learned about that in training and I was like, I can't think about this right now. So I don't know if she's still like that.

You Forgot (07:38.603)
God.

Jojo (07:40.104)
Yeah, that's the update.

You Forgot (07:43.31)
It's so hard medicating geriatric patients. You don't know how it's affecting them. They can't be like, you know what, I feel a little woozy, or I do feel dizzy, or I just don't feel right, or my stomach's upset. They don't tell you anything when they're in this stage, and it's so frustrating. So we're just prescribing. And if they believe you...

Jojo (08:09.17)
We're just prescribing so that she's not violent with other people, but how do you know the place is prescribing the right level? How do you know? Is this the right level where she doesn't know Deborah anymore? Is that the right level?

You Forgot (08:28.108)
Yeah, and so it's like everything's zapped. She doesn't remember Deborah, but she's behaving. So how do we pick what we want to be happening?

Jojo (08:37.882)
Yeah, that's, I think that's the ultimate question. And then I had all this pressure on me to like, I can't leave training. Like if I leave, you're out. And so I had this very weird conversation with my sisters. Like, what if, what if she dies while I'm in training? Can we push the funeral? Because, and they were like, Deborah was like, first of all, she's not dying. She's way too physically healthy. We're not that lucky. And she was like, secondly, let's say she does die. Yeah, we'll just push, push the funeral.

You Forgot (08:41.07)
you

Jojo (09:07.038)
Like, yeah, obviously. But you have to talk about these things now.

You Forgot (09:12.23)
gosh, I didn't even think about that. Because you were, I don't think people realize what the training is. Like you moved away for six weeks. Like you were living.

Jojo (09:14.611)
Yeah.

Jojo (09:22.418)
Yeah, even though it was just to the DFW airport, I can't, I couldn't, like we had one guy that got, like she, well not a guy, it was a sweet girl and I loved her. She was 25 minutes late to class one day because she overslept. The next thing we knew, she was at the airport. Within two hours, they had kicked her out, packed up her stuff and she was gone.

You Forgot (09:44.402)
my God, it's like on bachelor and bachelorette, like when someone goes, they see their.

Jojo (09:46.578)
Yes. Yes, like you go back and her room is empty and the maid is cleaning it. That's what we're like, damn, she's gone.

Jojo (09:59.467)
And we had been that class because she was like one of my first friends in training. She was 23. Just she looked like Sloan. I just loved her. And that class, it was about to start and the instructors were like, hey, where is so and so? So I'm texting her and I'm like, where are you? And then they wait and they're like, we can't start class till everyone's here because it was like security issue.

You Forgot (09:59.598)
That's crazy. Well, welcome.

Jojo (10:25.362)
So I go, can I just step outside and call her? And they're like, yeah, get her here. So I call and it went straight to voicemail. I was like, her phone's dead. Her phone's dead, I know that's what happened. And they were like, we gotta start class. And I was like, she's gone. That's it, she's gone.

You Forgot (10:41.496)
I mean, I do appreciate how cutthroat they are because kids, especially that age, think like there's a second chance or like I can have someone vouch for me or like, you know, there's always like a workaround, but they're like, no, you're late, bye.

Jojo (10:56.624)
Yeah, because what if she had been late to a flight and made 180 people late? Like you can't, you just can't be late on this job. You can't.

You Forgot (11:04.718)
So how in advance do you have to be accounted for? Like when you have a flight, so you're not late.

Jojo (11:14.346)
Yeah, that's a good question. So if it's a domestic flight, I have a little app on my phone that'll work as soon as I get through security and I have to sign in on that app an hour before the flight. If it's an international flight, hour and 15 minutes.

You Forgot (11:28.823)
Okay.

You Forgot (11:32.782)
So they know you're there in the building making your way.

Jojo (11:35.24)
Yeah, and the app can track your location and it will only work once you're through security.

You Forgot (11:40.586)
Wow, I bet all the technological advances now, as opposed to when you first started flying are just completely different. Everything's so easy.

Jojo (11:51.709)
It's, this job is almost a completely different job. It's just so much easier now. Like our manual, so now we have a work phone, just like it's an iPhone and our whole safety manual, which you have to carry with you at all times. It's just on the phone. It's an app. Whereas before my safety manual was an actual book. You can't see if you're listening to this, but it was probably 10 inches thick and it weighed eight pounds. And I had to carry that thing around everywhere. I know it's totally different now.

You Forgot (11:58.382)
Yeah.

You Forgot (12:20.248)
That's crazy!

Jojo (12:22.59)
Crazy. But let's talk about, because it is graduation season and you had a big tell us all about Jude graduated.

You Forgot (12:28.909)
on this.

You Forgot (12:33.934)
Jude graduated from CU Boulder. It was a couple of weeks ago and Anthony's brother came in and Marta was here and it was really fun. They do a big ceremony in the football stadium and Kristen Davis from Sex and the City did the commencement speech, Charlotte.

Jojo (12:54.706)
When you told me that, I was dying. Dead.

You Forgot (12:58.976)
She was really sweet. She was like, I was like, why were they, why did they ask me to do this? But the senior president of the senior class or whatever got it done and she was born and raised here. Her dad was a professor at the school and her mom was a graduate. She did not attend, but you know, she's a bolder person. So that was cool. I literally saw my son walking into the,

stadium. So and I was like at the top in the bleachers. So I like ran down. So I was able to get pictures of him and his friends all walking in together. And well, Anthony was looked at his location at one point, he goes, think, because I think they might enter on this side and kids were entering from all different corners. So I didn't put too much value into that. But

Jojo (13:37.31)
How'd you spot-

Jojo (13:44.243)
boy.

You Forgot (13:55.818)
He goes, he's like, I think I'm right, Sue. And I'm like, okay, cool, I'll go down there. And I ran down and apparently the guys, like the group, they were walking in and someone said, like, I wonder where my parents are. And he goes, and Jude said, like, I bet my mom finds me. And they walked out and I'm like, So all their faces were like.

Jojo (14:14.602)
Amazing.

You Forgot (14:22.574)
Oh my God, there's your mom in a sea of 150,000 people. So it was really fun. And then they do a commencement ceremony, like the recognition thing where they say their names and walk across the stage and get your diploma. So we did that the next day. It was fun. I mean, they had a party at the house, like a food truck. Some of the other moms that are local did a bang up job and

Jojo (14:28.061)
Yeah, that's great.

You Forgot (14:51.49)
decorated and yeah, it was great.

Jojo (14:54.526)
How was the weather? Perfect.

You Forgot (14:56.686)
It was perfect, like, grad, I mean, literally I went from the ceremony, I had a winter coat, I gloves in my pocket, everything. The sun comes out, I'm, I strip down to a tank top, I was sweating my ass off, and then I ran into Nordstrom Rack on the way home, because I didn't have like a dress here, and, or something, like a sundress, it was so hot, and then, like four days later, it snowed for two days. Isn't that wild?

Jojo (15:23.913)
raise.

You Forgot (15:26.52)
funny Colorado weather's

Jojo (15:27.39)
That is... Yeah, that's crazy that it was snowing in May.

You Forgot (15:32.662)
Yeah, yeah, I think the weather across the country has been obviously the most jacked up it's been in decades. It's all over the place.

Jojo (15:45.192)
Yeah, it's bipolar right now.

You Forgot (15:47.968)
Yes, my poor!

Jojo (15:50.762)
color.

You Forgot (15:52.334)
so I want to bring up, this was actually sent to us, like,

10 times. This, the Holderness family, are you familiar?

Jojo (16:05.737)
Yes.

Jojo (16:10.814)
I mean, I am familiar, they pop up on my For You page every now and then.

You Forgot (16:14.742)
I feel like they're, I feel like they've been doing this even like before COVID, right? Like, I mean, they're always making, because they were on the amazing race, this Kim and Penn Holderness, the Holderness family, can find them, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, they're everywhere. But the dad, Penn, has Alzheimer's and dementia in his family.

Jojo (16:21.32)
Yes, I think so.

You Forgot (16:44.594)
and he came forward, this was, I don't know, a week or two ago, and said that he is seeing this doctor and he prescribed a GLP-1 to help prevent the Alzheimer's.

He had three of the four grandparents on his side had Alzheimer's and dementia. His dad passed away two years ago with severe dementia and the mom is at the end stage of Alzheimer's now. The grandparents, their condition was kind of hidden by their kids, right? Like, plus back in the day, it was just like, they're getting older, they're old age. Yeah.

Jojo (17:15.007)
Ugh.

Jojo (17:28.318)
Yeah, they're getting older.

You Forgot (17:31.211)
And so.

You Forgot (17:35.916)
Yeah, so they were dealing with that and

He decided to like go see this longevity doctor. He's a, his name's Dr. Richard Isaacson. So he's the leading voice in the fight against Alzheimer's disease prevention. And he has dedicated his career to not just treating memory loss, but working to stop it before it starts. 45 % of Alzheimer's cases may be preventable through lifestyle and medical intervention. He believes that early action in your thirties and forties is critical.

Emerging GLP-1 weight loss drugs like Ozempic might also help reduce Alzheimer's risk by addressing insulin resistance, weight, and inflammation.

GLP-1s are going to be an absolutely critical part of the story. Lifestyle plus drugs are the way that certain people need to follow to get themselves off the road to Alzheimer's.

Jojo (18:34.632)
I fully support. I mean, I've been very open. I'm on a GLP-1, a maintenance dose. It's working for me. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but I did get an alert on my watch the other day that my resting heart rate has dropped 10 beats per minute. And I haven't lost weight. Like I'm not losing any more weight. So I don't know what that's about. I don't know, but like that's good. That's a good health metric, right?

You Forgot (18:59.917)
them.

You Forgot (19:04.161)
Yeah. Dr. Isaacson also believes that your genes and family history doesn't guarantee you will get the disease. Thank you.

Jojo (19:13.108)
Praise Jesus from his lips to God's ears.

You Forgot (19:16.618)
In blood tests, the APOE4 gene is known risk factor, but that risk can be lowered through intervention. He believes lifestyle choices, personalized prevention plans can help with the tug of war against your genes. mean, so this is a recent episode of the Holderness's podcast. It's called Holderness Family Laughs, like on YouTube.

and it's worth checking out because he's being proactive and I guess he started the GLP one and you know, and he has the gene and everything too. So I don't know, it's so confusing on.

It's just, what do you say? Put all your eggs in one bath and not.

Jojo (20:07.722)
Put all your eggs in the same basket. And if you've seen this guy, he also does not need to lose weight, in my opinion. He looks like he's a very-

You Forgot (20:15.05)
No, no, healthy family. He also said, and I know this will resonate with a lot of our listeners, and because I know that unfortunately we've said crap like this. But he also said that his parents had very thorough advanced directives, including instructions on how to care for them if they started losing it and stuff. So they were proactive and helpful.

But the dad told him, son, if I start losing my mind, I want you to take me to an island with a fishing pole and drop me off. Yeah, he was trying to spare his son all the heartache of being caregiver and watching your father lose his mind. And I think we all would love to be spared that. It's not that simple.

Jojo (20:52.2)
Yes, immediately yes.

Jojo (21:11.378)
Sure was.

You Forgot (21:14.102)
I I said that to my kids when they were too young to hear that and they got mad and they were crying. But now I think my daughter would definitely drop my ass.

Jojo (21:26.536)
Yes. Yes, drop my ass off somewhere.

You Forgot (21:32.162)
I know.

Jojo (21:33.722)
and at some point, think speaking of Marta is like really well read about a lot of different things and she's brought up that, they're calling Alzheimer's diabetes type three. And I think we'll do a deep dive on that. Right.

You Forgot (21:48.942)
Yeah, she brought that to my attention. That's in like Europe. That's what they refer to in Europe. I, yeah, I really want to look into that more because it is, you know, insulin and sugar related, all that stuff. But we don't talk about it in the States.

Jojo (21:52.606)
Yeah.

Jojo (22:11.252)
We don't. And I remember when we checked my mom into the assisted living place and of course her doctor sent over all her records and someone there was like, well, so she's diabetic. Y'all didn't tell me that. And we were like, she's not diabetic. And they were like, well, according to her records, she has diabetes and we didn't know. So I think it's all very much related.

I've also heard of a couple of instances from people that I know who said like their parent was living with them, suffering from quote unquote dementia, didn't know what type, and they cut out the sugar and their symptoms got better. So there's gotta be something to it.

You Forgot (22:34.029)
Yeah.

You Forgot (22:53.036)
Yeah.

You Forgot (22:56.908)
Yeah, there definitely has to be. There's so much, I mean, we could talk about it forever. I know.

Jojo (22:59.197)
Yeah.

Jojo (23:03.434)
lucky us

You know, it's a blessing and a curse because we started this because we knew so many people going through it too and we wanted to be a resource, but we also wanted to turn this real shitty situation into something for good. But then it's also like, we hear a lot of really sad stories all the time.

You Forgot (23:27.822)
I know, you know, funny you say that because this month I've just been really trying to figure out...

how to change that and get some dopamine again. Because we talk about such a subject and then you mentioned today you got a text about a friend and her mom and I immediately sent you a screenshot of a text I got from a friend who is about to embark on

Jojo (23:47.357)
Yeah.

You Forgot (24:09.742)
this fun little journey with her mom because her symptoms are advancing. And, you know, we want to be there and be a resource and everything, but it's just like, wow, this is depressing.

Jojo (24:24.298)
It sure is. sure is. But also, you can, if you're listening, you can always text me. Like, it's not as depressing when it's not my mom, you know?

You Forgot (24:33.4)
Always.

That's how I was with you. that's how this whole thing started. And I have another girlfriend that texts me and just had some questions. And her situation was a lot like our friend Shannon that's been on. Like there were some legal things involved. obviously, I'm not a lawyer, but I can send you to one.

Jojo (24:43.507)
Yep.

Jojo (24:57.534)
Okay.

You Forgot (25:05.71)
And someone, you know, I don't, I'll follow up and see if that ever worked out or if like hurt issues were some that our friend Aaron Miller could have helped with. I don't know, but yeah, we, at least, whoa, my house is falling apart. We do want to have the ability to help at least. But if that's not a thing.

Jojo (25:25.17)
And also now that I'm back on big corporation health insurance, which that's a whole episode in itself that when you're self-employed, you get shitty insurance. And when you work for this big for-profit corporation, you get great insurance. But luckily the airline I worked for really stresses the benefit of mental health doctors. And I get free therapy now.

You Forgot (25:48.034)
Jojo (25:49.577)
Like that's unheard of. I was paying 180 per session before and now it's free? So send me all your sad stories. I'm gonna be in free therapy three times a week.

You Forgot (26:00.878)
Oh good. Good for you. Good, thank God.

Jojo (26:02.324)
Yeah.

When I saw that I was like, excuse me free therapy I sent it to everyone in my little core family I was like everyone get your asses to therapy right now because I know you all need it and I'm the only one going I'd guess how that

You Forgot (26:19.542)
speaking? you told the kids that?

Jojo (26:22.522)
Yes, and Matt, was like everyone go back to therapy or go

You Forgot (26:29.149)
Speaking of ass, I got a text last night from my niece that says, she goes, Oh my God, you talking about the colonoscopy on the podcast? And I was like, Oh yeah, I was like, don't be afraid of butt stuff. And then she says,

I listened to you, I fall asleep listening to you when I was on a plane. It was like soothing to listen to your voice. And I go, nobody's ever said that before in my entire life. She's like, oh, Auntie, you know, she's so sweet. I know she's the best.

Jojo (27:01.354)
That's cute!

Jojo (27:08.394)
Speaking of colonoscopies, Matt had his last week and we go every five years and he had two more polyps that had formed within the last five years.

You Forgot (27:20.222)
I had a bunch and I had, some that had a different name. I can't remember the name. Yeah. I had a different name than the run of the mill one. And I just, I just go, okay. hyperplastic. Yeah. And I, I, you know, I don't, I get these results and I just go, okay, you got it out. Okay. Great. And I just move on.

Jojo (27:24.968)
Yeah, you had special ones!

Jojo (27:30.598)
It was like hyper style or something. Hyper style? That's it. That's it.

Jojo (27:46.1)
Got it out.

You Forgot (27:47.906)
But while we're on the topic of preventative screening, get your vaccines too, people. I'm sorry, but friend of the pod.

just called or texted me yesterday and has shingles. I was like, didn't you get the vaccine? And she said, I'm too young. They told me I was too young. And I'm like, is it supposed to be a 52 or 53? It's 50, right? It's 50.

Jojo (28:21.19)
It's, my doctor said 50, cause I turned 50 in February and that's when I'm gonna go get mine. However, this is my question. How did she know she had shingles?

You Forgot (28:30.862)
It's on her back, a spot, and it's pain. Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain. And she went to the doctor immediately and got a steroid and like Valtrex or whatever, like, or antiviral or whatever it is for that. I haven't talked to her today, but like, I'm, I was scared to death of shingles because I just remember.

watching, I watched David Letterman growing up and always, and he got it and he was out for like two to three weeks. And you're like, how's a little skin thing level you? I remember he had it like in his head. And yeah, and it was like, it's excruciating pain. I mean, I've had, you know, cold sores or whatever, knock on wood, I don't get one as soon as I fucking say the word cold sore.

Jojo (29:05.427)
Yes.

Jojo (29:12.232)
I remember that.

Jojo (29:23.991)
Yeah, I'm knocking on wood too. I've got Valtryek's in my kitchen right now.

You Forgot (29:28.17)
always, I always have it.

Those are so painful, but it's like one and teeny. I like, so you guys, get your vaccines.

Jojo (29:43.178)
But I have heard the shingles vaccine will also knock you.

You Forgot (29:47.763)
I got super sick.

Jojo (29:49.194)
Like, what were your symptoms? How long were you sick? I'm scared.

You Forgot (29:52.962)
It's like flu-like symptoms for like, and they say that the booster, because it's a, the shot and then two weeks later or a month later or something, I forget how it worked. They, I was told that the booster might make you a little sick, but my initial shot made me really sick. Like flu-like symptoms are just like two days. Like it wasn't horrifying, but that happened to me too. And I got a booster for COVID. So maybe I'm just a baby.

Jojo (30:19.228)
Okay. I'm just a baby!

You Forgot (30:23.054)
It's a baby! So yeah, but I'm scared of it. I have to check on her actually.

Jojo (30:31.506)
I think shingles is like the last vaccine we ever have to get, right? Besides flu.

You Forgot (30:36.684)
Yeah, I think we- What?

Jojo (30:39.604)
besides the flu.

You Forgot (30:41.238)
Yeah, and I think pneumonia, they offer that. I was picking up Zofran a couple of weeks ago, and this little girl at the pharmacy, know how some are just like techs or whatever, they don't like, and she's just like, you should get the pneumonia vaccine. And I go, what? Because I was not feeling good, obviously, getting Zofran.

Jojo (30:43.657)
lord.

Jojo (31:10.195)
Yeah.

You Forgot (31:11.054)
and I was dying. And I like, I was like, what are you talking about? But I think she just saw like my record, my age popped up something. She just sat there like telling it and I'm like, okay.

Do you want me to come in now and do that? No, I gotta go.

Jojo (31:27.101)
What do you mean by that? Do we do it now?

You Forgot (31:30.19)
I know. I'm gonna look that one up too.

Jojo (31:32.798)
I'm actually gonna look that up too, because I don't want pneumonia. I've had it before. It's terrible.

You Forgot (31:38.338)
Really?

Jojo (31:39.538)
I had it, this is gonna be a first world problem, but Sloan got pneumonia like six days before we went on our Alaska cruise and I was taking care of her. Like we went, she got the x-ray, she had pneumonia. And then on the cruise, I got pneumonia. So cool.

You Forgot (31:56.462)
Jojo (31:57.513)
and then I had to stay in our room the entire time I missed the whole cruise.

You

You Forgot (32:05.016)
That sucks.

Jojo (32:06.12)
Yep.

You Forgot (32:08.462)
Stephanie's on a cruise right now. It's like a, they flew into Nice. It's her, her husband, Greg, and her parents. And they did like Nice for a couple of days in Monte Carlo. And now they're like on a boat. It's not like a big cruise ship. It's like 200 people or something like that. And they're walking around France. I think it's a Viking cruise.

Jojo (32:27.754)
Ooh.

Jojo (32:32.682)
it's like a river cruise. OK. According to Google, all adults age 50 or older should get the pneumonia vaccine.

You Forgot (32:35.565)
There you go.

I know.

You Forgot (32:46.046)
Okay. My primary has not offered it to me.

Jojo (32:51.178)
Hmm. Well, I guess I'll be asking about that too. And with my stellar insurance now, by the way, every time I go to my primary care doctor, they give me $500 to my FSA card. Like, what is this? I know. So like you get paid to go to the doctor.

You Forgot (32:56.174)
Look, I'm sitting on a-

You Forgot (33:06.498)
What?

You Forgot (33:13.23)
You're not gonna be able to talk about this much.

Jojo (33:16.49)
Hey, I've worked my ass off for that insurance.

You Forgot (33:20.606)
Dude, I hope people, listeners actually like follow along to this saga. mean, the losing or not losing the insurance, it increasing like triple the price, making it absolutely unattainable. And then you guys going and driving fucking buses, hustler, you're a little hustler.

Jojo (33:40.329)
unaffordable.

Jojo (33:49.426)
Well, we gotta have insurance, right? I mean, I didn't really have a choice.

You Forgot (33:51.886)
Yeah.

Well, people make different choices all the time and then sit around and bitch about their... Yeah. But you did something about it and you figured it out and then lo and behold you get an email from America and we're holding interviews! Like, what the hell?

Jojo (33:59.413)
then just don't have insurance.

Jojo (34:12.348)
I was like, and as soon as I like Matt was like, I'm going to finish driving the bus for the school year because I feel bad for my kids. Yada yada. Week two of training. He was like, I'm fucking done. And he quit. He quit like that. Yes. Yes. When he realized his bus insurance would be good for 30 days after he quit, he was like, and I'm done. I'm done.

You Forgot (34:25.806)
I WON'T DO IT!

You Forgot (34:29.571)
sorry.

You Forgot (34:38.101)
I missed that.

Jojo (34:39.306)
Yeah, I forgot to tell you that. And then my insurance with my airline kicked in the day I graduated. So there was no gap. had insurance the whole time. But as soon as he realized that he was like in here are my keys and I'll never see you again.

You Forgot (34:46.36)
Yeah.

Jojo (34:55.624)
His little sweet babies wrote, he told them the day before, he was like, tomorrow's my last day. He said they were bawling to the point where he was like, guys, you have to stop crying so loudly. I'm driving a bus here. he loved it. They wrote him these sweet little notes that said, Mr. Matt, I love you. Thank you for being the best driver. And one little girl said, you're the only person in my life that says good morning to me every day.

You Forgot (35:08.104)
He loved it. He loved it.

You Forgot (35:23.982)
What the hell? How or how or is she?

Jojo (35:25.551)
I know! Elementary school? She was like fifth grade.

You Forgot (35:33.048)
Can you go work at the school in another capacity?

Jojo (35:35.146)
you

It's crazy, like, just you never know what your impact is gonna be in whatever job you have. You never know.

You Forgot (35:45.066)
I know, I know. That's why you just gotta be a good person.

Jojo (35:49.97)
Yeah. You just have to be a good person. Yeah.

You Forgot (36:00.814)
All right. Got any favorite things? you've been in like Kimmy Schmidtville. You've been in a bunker.

Jojo (36:07.658)
favorite thing that's like annoying. But if we have any caretakers out there that are need to go on getaway for like two nights, because that's just what we did. Our our free flights kicked in the day I graduated. So of course, the next day I was like, let's go somewhere. And I looked at the flight loads and Mexico City was wide open. So we hopped on a plane to Mexico City. And we that night before we hopped on the plane, we watched Eva Longoria has a

show that's produced by Stanley Tucci, all about Mexico City and their restaurants. And so we went down there, we ate the best food. And then I'm texting Deborah about this trip and she was like, I really want to eat at this restaurant called Contra Mar, but you have to set your alarm 30 days before and like get online and book it because it's always oversold. So Matt and I are walking around. I didn't think anything of it after that. And we happened to pass by Contra Mar. It was like one o'clock in the afternoon.

We hadn't eaten. I was like, let's just see. And he was like, you think we can get in? I was like, let's just see. So we go up to the stand outside and we're like, do you have a table for two? And the guy literally laughed in our face. And he was like, no. I go, do you have anything at the bar? And he was like, actually we have two seats at the bar. So we got in to Contra Mar, which is now my new favorite restaurant in Mexico City. It was the most amazing meal I've ever had. And of course I had to text.

Everyone I knew who's familiar with this restaurant be like, guys, we're sitting at the Bart Contra Mar. Like, I don't know what's going on. It was amazing. It was so good. We got a whole fish. It was so good.

You Forgot (37:48.13)
So yeah, caregivers, when you need a quick minute to yourself, jet off to Mexico City.

Jojo (37:53.406)
Go to Mexico City!

It's a two hour flight from Dallas, it's not a big deal.

You Forgot (38:02.894)
I have yet to visit there and I totally want to. I can't wait.

Jojo (38:06.556)
Yes, you would love the food scene so much. Do you have a favorite thing?

You Forgot (38:11.906)
yeah, feel like I've been, the Margo's Got Money Troubles on Apple, amazing, amazing. Mark my words, that little Elle Fanning's gonna get her Emmy or Golden Globe, she's fantastic. And so is Michelle Pfeiffer and, gosh, why is his name escaping me? Ron Swanson from Parks and Rec.

Jojo (38:16.62)
yes!

Jojo (38:33.064)
Yes. it's not Nick Kroll, is it? No, no, Nick Offerman, yeah.

You Forgot (38:37.74)
No, Nick Offerman. Offerman. And he plays an ex-professional wrestler. And I just love his character, obviously, because, you know, Brother Tom and blah, blah, all the wrestling stuff in my world. Speaking of Brother Tom, there's a documentary movie about his company that he works for, the wrestling company. And he's like on the...

artwork of the promo. He's like in the ring and then like they in the trailer. He's in the trailer too.

Jojo (39:13.576)
What? Okay, have you watched it? Maybe I'll watch it. Okay.

You Forgot (39:17.25)
The trailer, the movie's not out yet. It's going to be in Cleveland's film festival or something.

Jojo (39:24.124)
you gotta go up for that!

You Forgot (39:27.402)
Yeah, or just wait till it's bought and you know, but yeah, it's so crazy. I'm like, look at Uncle Tom, brother Tom, Uncle Tom and the kids. But I sent it to all the kids and we were cracking up. But yeah, that show's really great. The Testaments on Hulu, the kind of sequel to Handmaid's Tale, that's been really good. It's jacked up, you because you're watching these young women.

Jojo (39:34.964)
That's

You Forgot (39:56.47)
marry these old men and, but there's a couple infiltrators like from May Day that are, know, so that's kind of, and the girls are so good and great actors and stuff. And I read Lena Dunham's book, Fame Sick. Yeah, I listened to it on the way here. And Lena Dunham, kind of polarizing to some people, I don't know.

Jojo (40:04.635)
Ooh.

Jojo (40:15.297)
you did? Okay.

Jojo (40:24.968)
I like her. I like her. I do.

You Forgot (40:26.434)
What? You know, I do too. And it kind of led to a girls rewatch. And I've rewatched a lot of it here and there, like certain episodes especially. And my God, it's so good. Did you watch girls? God, is it good? It is so good. I'm like begging, I'm like, Marta, you have to download this. It still like holds up and it's so...

Jojo (40:45.288)
Yes, loved.

You Forgot (40:55.284)
true of young women that have just graduated and don't know which end is up and their boyfriend situation. It's like all this stuff and I'm like, it just sounds like my kid, you know?

Jojo (41:09.394)
Yeah, yeah, same with mine.

You Forgot (41:12.11)
But yeah, it's really good. The book is great, because I liked hearing about all the girls stuff that happened back then and how, I mean, she was 24 when she got that deal. So her whole 20s was writing and being a showrunner on the number one show on HBO with Judd Apatow. you know, it's, that part's very interesting.

Jojo (41:25.246)
That's crazy.

Jojo (41:35.167)
Yeah, that's crazy.

You Forgot (41:42.7)
getting into all her health issues.

That's a lot. It gets to be a lot.

Jojo (41:48.862)
Yeah, she's been through it.

You Forgot (41:53.42)
Yeah, and it's funny because like when she starts being...

like the type of Lena Dunham that is annoying. I'm like, okay, I can be done with this book. Like it was a lot, but I still think everything that she says is like kind of on point. I don't know. think she, it's a good book.

Jojo (42:15.594)
She's just and she's so smart Everything she says is so like witty. Where are we sharing the other day with each other where she was? Naming who would play the summer house characters? She had to it so good

You Forgot (42:29.684)
right. Yeah, she is.

You Forgot (42:34.626)
Yeah, so that was a...

That's a good book. Oh, I have a baby. I have a new baby. My cousin Jimmy and Bree, they had a new baby. He's all of four days old. So this is not all depressing. We have a new baby. name's Atlas.

Jojo (42:44.82)
That's right!

Jojo (42:50.108)
Aww.

Jojo (42:54.634)
So cute. So cute.

You Forgot (42:55.936)
Atlas Andrew, he's, yeah, he actually is really cute, thank goodness. Because you know, yeah, babies can, you know, they look like little turtles for a while.

Jojo (43:00.446)
No he is.

Jojo (43:05.642)
Sometimes if they're not cute, I just go, oh my goodness, that's a baby. You don't want to say it's cute.

You Forgot (43:10.4)
No, he looks so cute. can't wait to meet him. Jimmy's like, when

Jojo (43:14.91)
Yeah, when are you coming back?

You Forgot (43:19.876)
sooner than later, I'm assuming.

You Forgot (43:25.39)
I don't

Jojo (43:26.258)
I mean, I'm like, why would you though? The weather there is amazing. The weather here sucks.

You Forgot (43:33.206)
Yeah, you know that we're opening the pool here. They started like two days ago and now the weather's gonna be shit. It was like 80 last week. But it's so much nicer than in Texas because it's just like, it's 80 and it's sunny and beautiful but it's not that oppressive humidity. Like Dallas is getting worse. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, it's lovely.

Jojo (43:49.918)
And it cools off, right? It cools off in the evenings.

Jojo (43:57.619)
I had my first pull day yesterday, so we're officially in pull season.

You Forgot (43:57.838)
It's lovely.

You Forgot (44:03.566)
How's the water?

Jojo (44:05.074)
It was not that bad. I mean, it's not soup, but it wasn't like I was going to die when I got in.

You Forgot (44:11.714)
Yeah, no, I was standing in my pool like, you know, first week of May, was just, you know, standing there and it wasn't horrible. I figured I'd probably be in the pool sooner than later.

But that would mean I'd have to go home.

You Forgot (44:34.616)
Whatever. All right, girly. So yeah, go check out that Holderness family on YouTube. And if you wanna learn more about the GLP-1 and Alzheimer's, and we're gonna talk about that more too. I think it's gonna be an ongoing part of prevention and care from here on out. That's what it seems to be.

Jojo (44:56.058)
to and send us your questions on our Instagram.

You Forgot (45:01.932)
You forgot pod.

You Forgot (45:06.158)
We're like out of practice, JoJo.

Jojo (45:08.85)
We are. Feels like the beginning.

You Forgot (45:13.591)
No, the beginning we were just so, not fake, but like really trying to.

Jojo (45:19.294)
We were earnest. We were not talking about our butts.

You Forgot (45:21.09)
Yes, that's cute.

You Forgot (45:27.672)
Don't be afraid of butt stuff.

Jojo (45:29.342)
Don't be afraid of butt stuff. We're making a t-shirt that says that.

You Forgot (45:36.152)
be a good one. Don't know how it really, you know, goes along with the whole Alzheimer and dementia theme, but preventative and healthcare and longevity. So there you go.

Jojo (45:48.734)
That's right. And middle-aged women. There you go.

You Forgot (45:52.11)
Who's middle-aged woman?

You Forgot (45:57.258)
When is my mental age gonna catch up with my physical age? Because I just am so immature.

Jojo (46:01.286)
Never.

You Forgot (46:06.36)
Okay, good.

Alright, talk to you later. Bye!

Jojo (46:11.489)
Bye!
